What we manage

Google Business Profile management, done properly

Your listing is often the first thing a customer sees, before your website. Here is what a Google Business Profile management service should actually cover.

01

Categories

A primary category that says what the business is, plus as few extras as needed. Google's guidelines ask for the most specific category that represents the core business.

02

Services

Every service you offer listed in the profile, matching the service pages on your site, so the listing and the website tell Google the same story.

03

Posts and photos

Regular posts about real jobs, seasonal work and updates, plus your own photos of crews, vans, the clinic and finished work. Not stock images.

04

Reviews

A steady flow of genuine reviews through automated review requests, and replies to every review, positive or not.

05

Citations

Your name, phone and website consistent across the directories that matter in your trade, with old addresses and numbers cleaned up.

06

Service pages

A page on your site for each service, so a search for one job can land on a page about that job.

07

Area pages

Pages for the towns and neighbourhoods you serve, with real local detail. Our service areas page shows the approach.

08

Tracking

Calls, direction requests and website clicks from the listing, reported monthly in plain language.

Service-area businesses

Google Maps SEO for service-area businesses

Most trades and many mobile practitioners do not have a storefront customers visit. Google calls these service-area businesses, and they have their own rules.

01

Hide the address

If you do not serve customers at your address, Google says to remove it from the profile and list only your service area. Customers see the areas you cover, not your home address.

02

Set the service area honestly

Google allows up to 20 service areas by city, postal code or region, and says the overall area should not extend more than about two hours of driving from where the business is based. We list the places you actually go.

03

No virtual offices

Google's guidelines say a service-area business cannot list a virtual office unless it is staffed during business hours. An unstaffed shared-office address is not a shortcut to a better location.

04

Use your real name

The business name must match the name you actually use. Adding "Toronto Electrician Best Prices" to it is not permitted and can get the profile suspended.

How to rank on Google Maps, and why proximity limits reach

Google says local results are mainly based on three things: relevance, distance and popularity, which its help page also calls prominence. Relevance is how well your profile matches the search. Distance is how far you are from the person searching. Prominence is how well known you are, which Google says draws on things like how many websites link to you and how many reviews you have. It also says plainly that there is no way to request or pay for a better local ranking.

Distance is the one you cannot optimize. A roofer in Etobicoke can rank in the map pack for searches in Etobicoke and nearby, but rarely for a homeowner in Oshawa searching "roofer near me", however good the profile. Setting a wide service area does not change that.

That is why we pair the listing with your website. A well-built area page can rank in the regular results for "roof repair Oshawa" even when the map pack goes to roofers based closer. The map pack covers your nearby radius; your site's service and area pages cover the rest. Our guide on ranking on Google Maps without a storefront goes through this step by step.

What we do every month

  • Publish posts and photos to the profile.
  • Reply to new reviews, and draft replies for you to approve when a review needs care.
  • Update services, hours and holiday hours before customers notice they are wrong.
  • Watch for unwanted edits to your listing and correct them.
  • Add or improve service and area pages based on what people search.
  • Report calls, website clicks and direction requests from the listing.

Area pages we have built

Marrast Contracting's site has area pages and area-by-service pages, so a search for a specific job in a specific town has a page written for it. Ridge To River Electric's site has a page for each West Virginia county it covers. Both are hand-coded websites we built.

Local SEO for clinics and trades

A chiropractic or physiotherapy clinic usually has a storefront, so the focus is categories, services, photos and reviews, plus your college's advertising rules. HVAC, plumbing and contractor businesses are usually service-area businesses, so the hidden-address setup and area pages matter most.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

How much does local SEO cost in Toronto?

We price after a free audit call. Cost depends on the state of your Google Business Profile, how many service and area pages your site needs, how competitive your trade is in your area, and whether you also want review requests running. You get a written scope that separates the one-time setup from the monthly work.

Can you guarantee I will rank on Google Maps?

No, and be wary of anyone who does. Google says local results depend mainly on relevance, distance and popularity, and that there is no way to pay for a better local ranking. Distance from the searcher is outside anyone's control. What we can do is make your profile, site and reviews as strong as they can be.

Can I rank on Google Maps without a storefront?

Yes. Set up as a service-area business: hide your address, list the areas you actually serve, and back the profile with service and area pages on your website. You will rank best close to your verified location. Our guide on ranking on Google Maps without a storefront covers it in detail.

What does a Google Business Profile management service include?

At MoFluent it covers categories, services, hours, posts, photos, review replies, citation clean-up and monthly reporting, plus the service and area pages on your website that support the listing. It also includes watching for unwanted edits, because anyone can suggest changes to a public listing.

How long does local SEO take to work?

Fixes such as a wrong category, missing services or a suspended listing can show changes within weeks. Building reviews, links and area pages takes months and keeps compounding. Results depend heavily on how competitive your trade is near you, which is why we look at your area before giving any timeline.

Why does my business not show up on Google Maps in nearby cities?

Distance is one of Google's main local ranking factors, so the map pack mostly shows businesses close to the searcher. A wider service area setting does not override that. To reach nearby cities, rely on area pages on your website, which can rank in the regular results beyond your map radius.

Do you do local SEO outside Toronto?

Yes. We are based in Toronto and work with clinics and trades across Canada and in the United States, including West Virginia. Local SEO is managed remotely; your listing, site and reviews are all online. What changes by region is the competition and the directories that matter, so the audit looks at your actual market.
