Custom software
Custom software development for businesses that have outgrown spreadsheets
MoFluent is a Toronto team that builds the apps, internal tools, client portals and dashboards a growing business can't buy off the shelf. We connect them to the systems you already trust, then keep them running.
When it is time
Custom software for small business usually starts with one expensive workaround
Most owners don't set out to commission software. They notice a person spending every Friday copying numbers between systems, or a process that only one employee understands. Those are the jobs custom software does well.
Internal tools
Replace the shared spreadsheet that runs your scheduling, quoting, job tracking or approvals with an app built for those steps, with the right access for each person.
Client portals
A private place where clients sign in to approve work, see reports and find documents, so your team stops answering "where is it?" by email.
Dashboards and reports
The numbers someone assembles by hand, pulled together automatically and delivered where people will look at them, including daily summaries by email.
Booking and intake
Booking that respects your real rules: who can see whom, how long each appointment takes and when family or group visits are allowed.
Custom CRM
When a standard CRM forces your team to work around it, we shape it to your process or build the missing part alongside it.
Connections to what you keep
Old desktop software, practice systems and accounting tools don't have to go. Where no ready connection exists, we build the bridge.

Why every project starts with an audit
We don't publish a price list, because the same request can be a two-week job or a six-month one. What moves the cost is how many systems it touches, how messy the data is, who needs access and how much of it has to keep working during the change.
So we start with a free audit: we map how the work runs today and write down what to build, in what order, and what it would be worth. You see the scope and the price before anything is built, and automation only goes where it earns its place.
How we build and run it
- Audit. We sit with the people doing the work and put the findings in writing.
- Build. Each change goes to a private staging copy first, and is tested there before it reaches your team.
- Run. We monitor it, fix it, adjust it as the business changes and keep building on it.
We keep a written map of how your system fits together. Our security page explains how we handle data and access, and our guide to what to automate first can help you prepare for the audit.
Questions
Frequently asked questions
How much does custom software cost in Canada?
It depends on how many systems are involved, the state of your data and who needs access, so we scope and price each project after a free audit. You get the written scope and price before anything is built, and you can decide then whether the return justifies it.
Do we have to replace the software we already use?
Usually not. We treat what your team already trusts as something to design around. One clinic kept its on-premises scheduler, and we built booking, day sheets and a dashboard around it.
Should we buy software or build it?
Buy it if a standard product fits your process. Build when your process is part of what makes you better, when you are paying for several tools that don't connect, or when your team has built a shadow system in spreadsheets to work around what you bought.
Can we start with one small piece?
Yes, and we prefer it. A single workflow proves the value, shows your team what working with us is like and gives both sides real information before a larger commitment.
Who owns the code?
It depends on where the software is built. When we build it on the MoFluent platform, MoFluent owns the code. When we build it on your own platforms and systems and the contract says so, you own the code. We settle this in writing before the build starts.
Who keeps it running after launch?
We do. Software nobody maintains stops working quietly, so ongoing monitoring, fixes and improvements are part of how we work.
Do you work outside Toronto?
Yes. We are based in Toronto and build for businesses across Canada and the United States. Most of the work is done remotely, with in-person sessions where they help.
